STAR Eligible Species

Tagged Redfish: STAR-tagged redfish only. Tagged redfish do not need to be harvested. Some STAR tagged redfish may be outside the slot. Any harvested STAR-Tagged Redfish must meet the slot requirements as required by current state law if harvested. Slot limit for redfish is 18 to 27inches.

Tigress Outriggers & Gear Tagged Dolphin:  STAR-tagged dolphin only. Tagged dolphin do not need to be harvested. Any harvested Tigress STAR-Tagged dolphin must meet the minimum slot requirements as required by current state law. 20 inches to the fork of the tail.

Species with Minimum Size Requirements: Inshore, Offshore, Kayak & Youth Divisions.

Spotted Trout
Spotted Trout: 15 inches using the pinched-tail measurement method

 

Snook
Snook: 28 inches using the pinched-tail measurement method

 

Redfish
Non-Tagged Redfish: 18 inches using pinch tail method

 

Dolphin
Dolphin: 20 inches to the fork of the tail

 

Kingfish
Kingfish: 24 inches to the fork of the tail

 

Grouper
Grouper: Gag & Black 24 inches, Red & Scamp 20 inches using the pinch-tail method

 

 

 

Species with No Minimum Size Requirements

 

Tarpon
Tarpon: No minimum size requirement. Special handling and resuscitation required.

 

 

Ladyfish
Ladyfish: No minimum size requirements. Youth Division only.

 

Jack
Jack Crevalle: No minimum size requirements. Youth Division only.

 

Sheepshead
Sheepshead: 12 inches using pinch tail method. Youth Division only.

 

Snapper
Snapper: All species of snapper are eligible for entry with no size limit. Youth and Conservation Division only.  If harvested snapper must meet FWC regulations.
